Let the Magic Begin...

Yep, let the magic of Christmas begin!  I'm ready...are you?

Shoie had such a cute idea for her Christmas cards this year and her two handsome little men cooperated!  WooHoo.  I love how her card turned out.  She hasn't gotten the final say yet, but I just had to show off her rough draft.

May the Spirit of Christmas shine on you and fill your hearts with the magic and wonder of the Season.
Let the fun Begin!

So Blessed

At this Thanksgiving season, I wanted to take a moment and write down all the many blessings and things that I am thankful for in my life.  I have been truly blessed and yet I sometimes don't acknowledge those people and things in my life that mean so much to me.  I'm going to list 30 things, but honestly there are so many things I'm thankful for that I could write an epic.  So, here goes...

THINGS I'M THANKFUL FOR

1.
My faith in God and his Son Jesus Christ is the most important thing I possess.

2.
My husband, who loves me unconditionally.  You mean the world to me.

3.

4.
My favorite son Beau, who is kind, lives for fun, and works very  hard.  I can always count on you and I love you Beauzie!

5.
My favorite son Carson, who has taught me that it's ok to not be perfect at everything....except MX Racing!  Keep winning Cranston...I love you and am proud of who you are.

6.
My favorite daughter Kenadie, who brightens my life.  You are my sunshine!

7.
My parents, who taught me the things that are most important in life, who have shaped me into the person that I am.  I love you both.

11.
My neighbors who I can count on for anything and are awesome friends.

12.
My Young Women and co-leaders who have strengthened my testimony and taught me what my values should always be...Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice & Accountability, Good Works, Integrity, and Virtue.  I love you all!

13.
My home, which is my warm and cozy sanctuary and big enough to have friends and family over often.

14.
My freedom and the soldiers who are fighting to keep it.  Thanks to you all and your families for your sacrifice.  May God bless you!

15.
My career that allows me to be creative and make people smile.

16.
My dog Ally, who adores me, who is always happy to see me, who misses me when I'm gone, who makes me go for walks and reminds me when it's time to go to bed.

17.
My St. George home, which is so quite, relaxing, and a place where I can get away from the stress of the world.

18.
For Winter and Summer, which makes the Spring and the Fall oh so wonderful.

19.
For the health that we have all been so lucky to enjoy.

20.
For music that moves my spirit.

21.
My bifocals...so I can read the fine print.

22.

23.
For my brothers and sister, who I love very much and I tease quite often.  Thanks guys for making me look good!

24.
For the rest of my and Jim's family, who are all so wonderful.  Everyone touches our lives in a different, wonderful way.

25.
For plenty of food in the pantry and my big kitchen as I love to cook.

26.

27.
My love of reading and learning.  I'm so thankful that I love to read.

28.
For being able to travel to see and experience new things.

29.
For laughter and humor that gets us through the rough times and makes our hearts swell.

30.
And for everything else I couldn't live without... toilet paper, chocolate, a comfy bed, clothes, shoes, feminine hygene products, makeup, showers, housekeepers, good perfume, Glee, email, medicine, pepper, rain, my planner,  flowers, hair color, shampoo, xm radio, cell phone, water, and love, not necessarily listed in the order of importanct.  LOL

It's amazing that the more I write, the more I think of to be thankful for.
I am truly blessed and I thank my Heavenly Father because I know that all good things come from Him.

Gorgeous Kenzie | Utah High School Senior Photography

I swear I've had a run of gorgeous high school seniors girls lately and Kenzie was no exception.
She had the bluest, brightest eyes of anyone I've ever photographed and her smile was so natural and  beautiful.
Can I just say..."I have the best job in the whole world!"
Kenzie, I hope you love them all.

Beautiful Cheyenne | Utah High School Senior Photographer

All I can say is WOW!
Of course Cheyenne said "I'm not very photogenic."  Yeah right!
She was freakin' AWESOME!  Look at those eyes...and her darling smile...and her cute hair...The camera LOVED her.
We had so much fun and if any of you know her mom, she is a riot.  She entertained us through out the whole shoot and I seriously couldn't stop laughing.
I wish every session could be this awesome with images that look this amazing.
Thanks guys for making my job so fun.

WORCS MX Race - Mesquite NV

I had lots of pround mommy moments this last weekend while my son Carson competed in the final WORCS (Western Off-road Championship Series - MX)  race of the season.

No one understands the training involved to win... riding every day until they are exhausted, racing through the desert like a wildman with a death wish, lifting weights, riding bicycles up and down hills to build endurance, tweaking and fine tuning the settings on your bike so it reacts consistantly with every move your body makes.  This sport is definitely not for the weak or unmotivated.

As a parent of a desert racer, I can honestly say that watching a race brings out every single emotion a person could ever feel...

Anxiety...that his bike will perform and withstand the brutal beating it will undergo
Fear...that my son could possibly die or become seriously hurt
Agrivation...that other riders are careless or not well trained
Worry...that his last broken bones are healed enough to hold up
Anger...that sometimes the most deserving person doesn't always win
Sadness...to see your son get a bad start at the gate and be trapped in the middle of the pack
Anticipation...waiting for your child to appear after his first 10 mile loop through the harsh desert
Excitement... to see that your son has passed half the field while in the desert to appear in first place
Embarassment...to see other spectators watching you do the fist pump happy dance
Trepidation...waiting for the next few laps to see if he appears from the desert in one piece.
Happiness...that he is still in the lead
Frustration...that your son is in the lead and is showing off doing whips over the big jumps
Pure Joy...watching your son do better than he has ever done in his life
Satisfaction...knowing all your harping, nagging, and coaching has finally paid off
Pride...seeing the elation on your son's face as he is presented with a trophy which he has worked so
 hard to earn

Yep, it was an emotional day. But, one of the happiest of my life. Congratulations Carson...I'm so proud of you.

Michael & Jacqueline | Utah Wedding Photographer

I love it when a bride calls me and wants something "different".
I LIVE for different!
I also love it when the bride is gorgeous and brings along her very handsome groom.  Can you see where this is going...yep...awesome bridal  images!
Thanks so much Michael and Jacqueline for giving me the chance to play and for being brave enough to let me try anything I wanted.  You guys were amazing and I could tell by the way you looked into each others eyes and couldn't stop smiling that you are indeed meant for each other.
Congratulations and may happiness follow you forever!

I've been "horsing" around! | Utah Commercial Photographer

Yep, I've been horsing around.

Meet Hollywood, the perfect, gorgeous equine specimen to model the new mane and tail accessories from SugaRein.  He was so patient and so appreciative of the carrots and apples we brought to woo him.  It brought back so many memories of when I used to hang out with my best friend Tonka, a beautiful buckskin Appaloosa.  Dang I miss those days.

The newest rage in bling for horses comes from SugaRein.  Mane and tail extensions in an array of vibrant irridescent colors.  Each piece is hand woven and clips in easily for repeated use.  What horse wouldn't want to outshine the competition by looking all "blinged" out with these gorgeous embellishments.
Feel free to check out their website to see for yourself all the gorgeous colors available.

Colin & Brenna

Colin has just been called to the California Sacramento Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  He will spend the next two years of his life serving the wonderful people there and teaching them the gospel.  Boy are they in for a treat as he is a fine young man and such a wonderful representative for the Church.
Colin's big brother is also serving in the New York Bronx Mission and by the time Colin returns home these brothers will have spent four years apart.  What a great reunion that will be when they finally get to see each other again.
Their little sister Brenna got to tag along on Colin's photo shoot and was so stinkin' cute. I got some awesome images of her and just had to show them off as well.
What a darling family with the biggest hearts and uncompromised dedication to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I'm very honored to know them.
